CNC CYLINDRICAL GRINDER
This machine is designed for the grinding of workpieces in series production operations. It is therefore ideally suited for use in the automobile industry and all sectors where small cylindrical precision components are produced in large series under economical conditions.
Machine base is made out of cast iron of suitable grade. They are doubly stress relived while machining. The machine base is so designed that it will have least thermal expansion due to machining coolant temperature variations. This is achieved by suitably designing the machine base along with the machine guard to enable the coolant collecting directly on to the machine guard.
Cross and Longitudinal Slides
The cross and longitudinal slides are made from high-quality grey cast iron and have high-precision guides with optimum guide intervals for the overall rigidity of the machine. The longitudinal slide rests on V and flat guide ways over the entire travel range. Users benefit from the excellent straightness of the generating line .The cross slide glides on a preloaded cross roller guide way. This guarantees wear-free and stick-slip-free motion plus high po¬sitioning precision.
The wheel head with a position of 30 deg to the work spindle axis for external cylindrical grinding with the grinding wheel on the right is mounted on the cross slide. The wheel head is equipped with hydrodynamic bearings from a reputed German manufacturer is of suitable size, lubricated with a pressurized lubricating oil. The closed loop lubricating system ensures highest precision over long period.
The work head is suitable for dead center grinding of the components. The work head spindle has roller bearings, requires minimal maintenance and displays a good roundness. It is driven by a infinitely variable induction motor.
The generously dimensioned barrel, designed for the use of Morse 2 taper centers, glides in the rigid tailstock housing. The fine adjustment makes the finest possible taper correction in the range below 1 µm possible when grinding between centers.
In-process gauging with Movomatic/Marposs gauging system. Gauges mounted on hydraulic slide for precision measurement and control of the dimension.
Single point dresser is mounted near the tailstock on the longitudinal guide way on a separate mount. The 2 axes are programmed to interpolate to generate various profiles on the grinding wheel.
CNC system will be either FANUC 0i-TC. Programmable resolution will be 0.0001 mm. It is provided with standard grinding cycles.
Machine is provided with the power fail retraction feature. With this feature, the wheel slide will retract by 0.5 mm maximum immediately after power fail. This will avoid the accidental crashing of the wheel with the component.
Coolant system is provided with a pump of 60-80 lpm delivery at 4 bar. Filtration is done with magnetic drum separator and compact band filter.
